To promote research, innovation, and communication in an interdisciplinary program that focuses on the ways evidence-based planning and design impact health.

The Center for Health Systems & Design is home to the world’s largest collection of interdisciplinary faculty, students, and affiliated professionals committed to research and education about the impact of design on health. The Center’s work spans three areas of emphasis in its teaching, research, and service activities:
1. Design that protects health.
2. Design that develops/enhances health.
3. Design that restores health after it is impaired.
