Center for Infectious and Inflammatory Diseases

Center for Infectious and Inflammatory Diseases

The Institute of Biosciences and Technology is organized into centers of research excellence in cancer, genomics and disease, developmental biology and birth defects, and infectious disease. Research in the Center for Infectious and Inflammatory Diseases focuses on determining the structural organization of the extracellular matrix (ECM) and the molecular details of ECM-cell interactions and signaling. The Center employs a multidisciplinary approach using state-of-the-art biomedical techniques to dissect these processes. It is anticipated that knowledge gained from these studies will be used in the design of novel strategies to prevent and treat disease.
