Center for Large-Scale Scientific Simulations

Center for Large-Scale Scientific Simulations

To stimulate and facilitate the development of multidisciplinary teams for research in massively-parallel multiphysics computation; to acquire and develop the software infrastructure required; and to develop multidisciplinary educational programs to prepare students for modern computational engineering careers.

The Center for Large-Scale Scientific Simulations (CLASS) advances state-of-the-art large-scale scientific simulations and develops educational programs to train students for careers in modern scientific computation. Computational simulation plays a large role in many industries as well as national security. Simulations help designers and analysts assess the behavior of engineered and natural systems under a variety of conditions. Simulations also play a vital role in the design of experiments and in the interpretation of experimental results.
