Mission:

To form research alliances in order to continue to be in the forefront of maritime archaeology research and be an active partner to the academic programs in nautical archaeology.

The Center for Maritime Archaeology and Conservation (CMAC), through its affiliation with the Institute of Nautical Archaeology and the Department of Oceanography, keeps Texas A&M in the forefront of nautical, maritime, and underwater archaeology research. Its mission builds on CMAC’s expertise in artifact conservation, advance underwater mapping technology, and its reputation in these research areas. CMAC has incorporated several laboratories specializing in various research areas and aspects of nautical archaeology.
