Center for Transportation Safety
Mission:

To serve as a focal point for traffic safety research, policy analysis, education, and outreach by providing training and guidance in transportation safety and safety-related research; promoting the collaboration in the cause of transportation safety; conducting research to reduce transportation deaths and injuries; assessing effectiveness of plans, programs, and policies that have been implemented to reduce transportation-related deaths and injuries; providing safety information to professionals and the public; and serving as a resource to legislature and various state agencies by developing new plans, programs, and policies that reduce transportation-related deaths and injuries in Texas.

The Center for Transportation Safety (CTS) is committed to reducing the frequency and severity of roadway crashes through a program of innovative and multi-disciplinary research, education, and outreach. The Center’s work is focused on developing safer roadways, safer drivers, and addressing the needs of high-risk groups.
