Infrastructure unit prepares for Research Network Annual Meeting by touring campus spaces

Researchers are encouraged to participate in the Research Network Annual Meeting scheduled for Feb. 13 at Rudder Forum and Exhibit Hall. The meeting will feature presentations on procedures and best practices for managing research spaces from Texas A&M University Facilities Services and SSC Services for Education.

In preparation for the meeting, the Division of Research’s Infrastructure team is touring research spaces across campus to become more familiar with facilities, researchers, and maintenance concerns. These walkthroughs are designed to engage with researchers, address infrastructure needs, and establish a point of contact in each lab.

As part of this initiative, the team will soon visit the George P. Mitchell ’40 Physics Building, the Anthropology Building, and the Psychology Building.

Recent walkthroughs included several College of Arts and Sciences buildings:

• Halbouty Geosciences Building (HALB): Features advanced laboratories and field exploration resources for the Department of Geology and Geophysics.
• Butler Hall: Hosts a few of the Department of Biology research labs, including fish vivariums. 
• Biological Sciences Building East (BSBE): Contains research laboratories and the Bioaquatics Facility.
• Biological Sciences Building West (BSBW): Contains research laboratories and an Instrument Shop for equipment support. 
• Chemistry Building: Supports the Department of Chemistry’s education and research activities.
• Eller Oceanography and Meteorology Building: Contains research laboratories and is equipped with a Doppler radar system on the roof to record weather data.
