Special Strategic Projects
Special Strategic Projects (SSP) assists the Texas A&M University research community with proposal development that aligns with the Division of Research and institution’s strategic priorities.
SSP seeks to support research capacity building and tactical skills in building competitive proposals that target federal funding opportunities. SSP efforts include:
Resource development and communication
- Assists faculty with obtaining data, getting answers or linking to resources and programs, in addition to the service provided by Sponsored Research Services (SRS), and to benefit the proposal’s competitiveness and effectiveness when funded.
- Providing information through Research Development Services (RDS)
- Developing resources, templates and sample text for IDEA or other proposal requirements:
Linkages, contacts and information
- Strategic Initiatives under the Vice President for Research
- Forming relationships with existing programs, entities, or BI initiatives for targeted proposals.
- Linking researchers to external collaborators with similar interests or desired expertise related to proposal requirements or developing collaborations, such as:
- Programs at Texas A&M with broader impacts
- Texas A&M University System members
- Panther RISE Grant Program (PRISE) with Prairie View A&M University
- Communications on Texas Senate Bill-17
- Office General Council (OGC), Texas A&M System policy (September 2023)
