Animals in Research and Teaching
The use of animals includes any activity involving vertebrate animals that materially alters their natural behavior or movements. The use of animal carcasses, tissues or fluids obtained specifically for research, testing or teaching is also subject to review under applicable regulations and may be classified as “use of animals.”
Personnel who work with animals or are at risk from animal exposure must be enrolled in a Biosafety Occupational Health Program and informed of the risks associated with the animal exposure.
