Travel Award Recipients
Fall 2024
Five postdoctoral research scholars received travel awards of $500 each to attend professional conferences during the second part of 2024, the Texas A&M Office of Postdoctoral Affairs and the Texas A&M Postdoctoral Association announced today.
An independent panel of faculty members and postdoctoral scholars selected the award and recipients based on merit scoring:
This years awardees are:
- Dr. Guadalupe Valencia Toxqui, advised by Dr. Jolene Ramsey, Assistant Professor, Department of Biology, Texas A&M Center for Phage Technology, College of Arts & Sciences
- Dr. Hassan Hakimi, advised by Guilherme G Verocai, Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Veterinary Pathobiology, School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences
- Dr. Gaopen Xu, advised by Dr. Ping Chang, Professor, Department of Oceanography, College of Arts & Sciences
- Dr. Qiuying Zhang, advised by Dr. Ping Chang, Professor, Department of Oceanography, College of Arts & Sciences
- Dr. Yukihiro Nagashima, advised by Dr. Hisashi Koiwa, Associate Professor, Department of Horticultural Sciences, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
Five postdoctoral research scholars received travel awards of $500 each to attend professional conferences during the first six months of 2024, the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) and the Texas A&M Postdoctoral Association (Texas A&M PDA) announced today.

The Division of Research (DOR), Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA), and the Texas A&M Postdoctoral Association (Texas A&M PDA) are pleased to announce that six postdoctoral research scholars received travel awards of $500 each to attend professional conferences during July 1 – December 31, 2023. These awards are independently judged by a panel of faculty and postdoctoral scholars and are scored on merit-based criteria.
The awardees represent: Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (1), Texas A&M AgriLife Research (2), Agriculture & Life Sciences (2), Medicine (1).
