Understanding the practice effect on motor learning using a web-based platform

Overview

Participants will learn and practice to respond to sets of visual stimuli (e.g., numbers, letters of English alphabet, letters of the Phoenicial alphabet, a hand image representing spatially-matched cues with participant’s responding hand, geometrical shapes, spatial locations, and/or fractals) by pushing corresponding buttons on a keyboard. 

Participants will be required to perform this task under self-paced manner, and under time pressure conditions cued by external visual/auditory signals.

Inclusion criteria (all must be met):

• Ability to give informed consent and understand the task
• Over the age of 18 years and under 65 years of age
• English-speaking
• Participants must self-report:
  • Have no known neurological disease (e.g., Stroke, Parkinson Disease, Apraxia etc.).
  • Have no difficulty typing on a keyboard.
