Research Compliance and Biosafety

Research Compliance and Biosafety (RCB) ensures the highest standards of research integrity and compliance at Texas A&M University by promoting safe, ethical, and scholarly activity that aligns with the university’s mission.

Core Functions 

  • Supports the Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) to oversee human subjects research and ensure compliance with federal and institutional regulations. 
  • Works with the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) to oversee research involving biohazards and other regulated materials. 
  • Provides occupational health services through the Biosafety Occupational Health Program (BOHP) for individuals working with biohazards or animals. 
  • Collaborates with the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) to ensure humane care and use of animals in research and teaching. 
  • Maintains transparency and compliance through detailed research roadmaps and online submission systems.
