Dr. Emily Brady studies environmental science and philosophy and the relationship between nature and culture. She is developing and defending a new theory for situating aesthetic meanings and values in response to changes in the biosphere.
Jonathan Brunstedt

Dr. Jonathan Brunstedt studies 20th century history of Russia and Eastern Europe. He is writing a book that examines the U.S.-Vietnam and Soviet-Afghan wars and their role in the collapse of the U.S.S.R. and the rise of American exceptionalism.
Leonardo Cardoso

Dr. Leonardo Cardoso focuses on sound as a way to understand how governments operate. He is examining environmental risk and community-state relationships in contemporary Brazil using sound and hearing analytics.
ArCasia James-Gallaway

Dr. ArCasia James-Gallaway follows three overlapping strands of inquiry: the history of African American education, Black history education, and gendered (anti)Blackness in education. She is examining the impact of school desegregation in Waco, Texas.
Sumin Lee

Dr. Sumin Lee studies gender and armed conflicts, conflict-related sexual violence, and gender justice process using various empirical methods such as geospatial analysis, text analysis, and panel data analysis. She is writing a book on how governments adopt different forms of accountability for conflict-related sexual violence.
Shelley Wachsmann

Dr. Shelley Wachsmann studies Biblical and nautical archeology. He is publishing the final excavation report of the 1994-96 INA/CMS Joint Expedition to Tantura Lagoon, Israel, where an expedition revealed seven shipwrecks.
